pasumark 51 Report post Posted August 13, 2012 (edited) 2 days back when I switched on my Nexus S, it got stuck up in the starting screen 'Google'. So I removed the battery and again switched it on. It started to work. Yesterday in the afternoon, suddenly it froze and again I had to remove the battery and and then switch it on again. Afterwards it was working fine. But today morning (After switching off in the night and charging it), when I switch on, it moves from 'Google' screen to the colourful display and gets struck up there. The colour keeps on splashing and it gets stuck up there. I remove the battery and again try to restart. The same problem. My phone is in latest Android 4.0.4 What to do? !. If the phone cannot be revived immediately, what are my options to use my number? What should I tell in the webworld to change this no. to a SIM? And in future, if the Nexus S is corrected, how can I switch back no. to it? 2. What decent SIM based phones are available IMMEDIATELY, both in our forum and in market? Please help guys Edited August 13, 2012 by pasumark

pasumark 51 Report post Posted August 14, 2012 Dear Parin, I flashed the firmware with ODIN as instructed in the website link provided by you. The flash was fine, the ODIN said PASS and my phone re-started. But no change - still the same problem. keeps on re-booting - Google screen comes colour flashes and again it goes back to Google screen. Any other option? Even Shadikk was online today and tried to Flash it through Team viewer. But no improvement and could not figure out. He has asked me to courier the phone. Hope it gets solved. Meanwhile Thanks very much for Parin, Shadikk and Kalpesh.
Vinod Nayak 443 Report post Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) is your phone sim based or non sim based ? based on your earlier posts i guess its a sim based. Switch off your phone, remove sim. get a hair dryer, set it to warm and blow WARM air from behind the phone. make sure you DO NOT hold the dryer very close to the phone. keep it at least 1ft away from the phone. do that for 5 mins and then insert sim and battery, reboot. do a factory reset again and give it a few days to see if it restarts again. the above information is to try at your own risk. found this after searching on XDA website. it has solved the exact same problem you have with your phone. please make sure that you are not in a air-conditioned place. kshah 452 Report post Posted October 17, 2012 This problem is epidemic in Nexus S, as I understand from xda and other forums. Mainly when phone is on ICS or JB. I am going to buy soldering iron for mobile phone (small and pointed) and going to try to revive phone tomorrow. http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=85817483&pp=25&page=
kshah 452 Report post Posted October 19, 2012 (edited) Update : Attempt failed @ Rajan, yes battery checked and its perfect. Reason, mod explained on XDA is for GSM phone. CDMA board is different. Bought Rs 250 soldering iron and opened phone with hope that I will be able to do as mentioned. But when opened phone realized that photo is atleast 15 - 20 times the actual board. I could not see practically any resistor properly with 4X magnifier, so had to use 20X industrial microscope to see circuit Circuit in CDMA board is entirely different than that of GSM so could not do any thing, just reassembled phone and posting this.
