n_iceman 97 Report post Posted October 29, 2012 I get to many unsolicited SMS ..mostly with a senders name which start with 2 capital letters like 'LM' ... How do I block these generically? Can I block only from 'LM?????' Etc ...is there any app to do it? My number is on the DND list already but I still get these SMS. Rahul Always 87 Report post Posted October 29, 2012 If your number is registered with DND, please call up your service provider within 72 hours of getting the SMS and register a complaint. The service provider is required to give you a docket number indicating receipt of the complaint and forward the same to TRAI. You can check up status of the complaint on TRAI website after 72 hours which will indicate whether your complaint has been registered or not. This wont work, because the app will only block SMS from particular numbers The spam I am receiving is from 'LMxxxxxx" or "DMxxxxxx" or similar. They dont have any number and we cant even reply SMS to these senders. It will be blocked for all DND customers later... Sorry, I didnt understand this part. In fact, it is easier for you that you are getting messages from LM, DM etc since these are "registered" marketeers who have been allotted that status by TRAI. To use play store for indian apps, i had Vodafone MCC Code in Market Unlocker app. This app detects your operator through MCC MNC code & wanted to send the complaint to Vodafone for SPAM SMS received through Reliance CDMA network. I had installed it once as some ICICI calls were irritating me no end, After some time, I uninstalled the app as there was no further use. Hope it helps. When I was using the same, I tried to block some similar numbers, but the problem was that these numbers starting with LM etc were also sending me bank account and credit card details and I could not afford to lose out on these SMS', so eventually I uninstalled the app. Maybe you can give it a try. Link HERE guyz First up it doesnt even matter if you have registered in DND , ask me registered like ages ago and still get spammed for freakin all kinds of crap , especially property But this app above is the ANSWER i instaleld it this noon , and opened it as soon as i received a spam sms hit send and got confirmation from DND and after like half an hour vodafone also sent me a sms confirming receipt. so now i am gonna screw them crapheads real nice 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yesterday I got the following SMS TEL NO LM-HOLYHT02/01/13; 14:12:00 CHEVROLET RELEASES HELP DESK Ref No.( Q7543ABP ) FOR 33500000 INR. For Getting MONEY Send Inquiry with number on (chevpro2@chef.net) Lodged a complaint with Airtel and got the following reply today Namaste! Update Ref.no. CDRGP30102475631: No action has been taken as the call/SMS reported by you was found to be of service/non-promotional in nature. Now that DND is in the service provider can't message you on behalf of its listed advertisers.. But that doesn't stop anyone from messaging you an ad from a private number.. Whenever you give your contact details on a form.. There is a very high chance that the form collector will advertise his products or sell the information. Database to another company..
