Saurav 22 Report post Posted December 13, 2012 I have purchased a laptop which has Ubuntu 11.10 preinstalled. I am not at all interested in Ubuntu 11.10 and want to switch to Windows 8. Please guide the steps to completely remove every trace of Ubuntu 11.10.
Guru Gopal 589 Report post Posted December 13, 2012 once you start with windows 8 or window 7 by way of installing either from dvd or usb, you will get first screen where to install. There you will find your entire hard disk partitions. Remove all those patricians and make it as single hdd and then create primary partitions as you wish and format them. You will find fresh windows os without any trace of Ubantu.

ashi1980 4 Report post Posted December 14, 2012 First download all windows drivers for your laptop before installing windows 7/8... otherwise you may be stuck with no drivers for Lan/Wifi after installing windows. In that case you have to use another pc to download drivers.
tanveer 59 Report post Posted December 14, 2012 Win 8 will usually have most of your drivers. By the the way you can also have a dual boot system.
Guru Gopal 589 Report post Posted December 15, 2012 if you have wifi and connect it while installing win 8 (It will ask). No worry about drivers, it will fetch while installing.
