Funny Issue With Lg 2130

Recommended Posts

I was using serial cable with LG 2130 and it worked fine. Then I wanted to switch to using the the serial cable along with the USB to Serial convertor(prolific) because I wanted to rconnect on two machines and using USB was easy for plugging and unplugging.

Now the issue it everything works fine on one machine. On the other machine, the connection goes through and after some minute or so connection hangs. After disconnecting the and connecting again, the same problem persists. On the other machine everything works fine.

Both are Windows XP Pro machines. One is Lap top other is a desk top. Any clues as to what could be the issue here.

Thanks in Advance.

After comparing the two setups for almost two days the solution turned out to be a very simple.

For the benefit of others who might also face similar problem let me also tell what solved the problem. I was connecting the the LG2130 serial cable to the USB-Serial connection which was plugged into the USB cable that came with the coverter. This cable was plugged into another USB cable because I wanted the flexibility to change USB devices without accessing the backpanel.

Once I connected USB cable from the USB-COM converter directly to the pack panel the problem went away.

I am ruling out any problem with the USB cable to which connected the USB cable that came with the coverter to the back panel. That cable works fine when I connect any other device to using another cable. May be combination of three cables were bit too long to handle.

Thanks

Hi,

I am also facing some problem on my laptop with usb cable for 2130 . I have 2000 and xp both on my laptop.

earlier the cable was working fine, but by mistake I kept the cable plugged in to my computer and then started the computer. my cable has 2 lights...one for power and another for signals. now the signal light is on always. So now it gives a message that port already open. after a lot of struggle, i was able to get rid of this problem. but now the error is 692, and it says modem not found.

I dont know what to do about this.

Please help!!!

You changed the RConnect dialer didn't you? ;) The new (wrong) dialer is for a different kind of connection, hence, it will not detect your phone (as modem), and hence, you do not reach the point of checking if the port is open, and hence, you do not get the original message. This is your problem.

Try uninstalling the current RConnect dialer and re-install the original dialer. You do not need to re-install the PL-2303 USB-to-Serial converter drivers. Let us know how it goes. :)

Yes got it working...earlier it was giving that error but now in the morning I plugged in and it was working. I have no idea how it got fixed. But I did install pl2303 driver, which was not installed earlier.

Please tell me one thing....if reliance service is down...does it happen that it gives and error that modem is not responding...?????????????????

If Reliance service is totally down, you can see the signal in the handset screen. If the service is available and have some other problem, then you should be able to atleast dial the number and get connected.
