rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted September 21, 2013 It has not been released officially and there lot of fakes apk on the web, better wait for official one only. Right. As per one news report ... Source A lot of fake apps are currently on Google Play Store fooling thousands of consumers. One such app was called ‘Blackberry Messenger BBM" and was downloaded by over 100,000 users until it was removed from the store. However, the official BBM app is only available in New Zealand for iPhone customers. Global roll out is underway. The official Android version will show up here when it is released. >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=BlackBerry+Limited

praveenwarrier 49 Report post Posted September 22, 2013 At least now they have removed those fake BBM apps from the Play store. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
rajanmehta 4,056 Report post Posted September 22, 2013 So those unofficial APK's will be disabled now. From the official blackberry blog. BBM for Android and iPhone Launch Update Source Prior to launching BBM for Android, an unreleased version of the BBM for Android app was posted online. The interest and enthusiasm we have seen already – more than 1.1 million active users in the first 8 hours without even launching the official Android app – is incredible. Consequently, this unreleased version caused issues, which we have attempted to address throughout the day. Our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it’s ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM. We are pausing the global roll-out of BBM for Android and iPhone. Customers who have already downloaded BBM for iPhone will be able to continue to use BBM. The unreleased Android app will be disabled, and customers who downloaded it should visit www.BBM.com to register for updates on official BBM for Android availability. As soon as we are able, we will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android and continue the roll-out of BBM for iPhone. Please follow @BBM on Twitter for the latest updates and go to www.BBM.com to sign-up for updates about BBM for Android and iPhone. These issues have not impacted BBM service for BlackBerry. st_7 138 Report post Posted September 22, 2013 Is this will be paid or a free app?, if it is(will be) a free app how Blackberry(RIM) makes money out of it?. I've never used Blackberry services like BBM so don't know how it works.

I've never used Blackberry services like BBM so don't know how it works. It's a free App. I think BB launched it to retain current BB user, who at times find it difficult to switch between BBM and other chat application like Whatsapp.
