Narrow_Band_Minus 7 Report post Posted September 12, 2010 @ Narrow_Band_Minus connect the wimax to one of the 4 lan ports. then the wifi will works. i am using BSNL broadband wifi modem. did you got the wimax connection? I did'nt get the connection till today. They told that , since I have requested for outdoor CPE , this will take few days. I have Beetel 450TC1 ADSL+wifi modem. From some other forum I came to know that , this device will not support DHCP and will not work as a wifi router. Is this true ? ATHUL4R , which wifi modem are you using ? Any special settings required in the modem diagnostics page ? If yes , please provide the details. I will try with this Beetel 450TC1. Thanks a lot..

Narrow_Band_Minus 7 Report post Posted September 17, 2010 Today BSNL folks came and installed outdoor CPE. But need to create my userid/passwd from their Bangalore office. I may get those credentials hopefully by tomorrow. :-) A screen shot of the modem diagnosis page attached : Please let me know whether this values are ok or not. I just connected the RJ45 cable from the wimax modem to one LAN port of my Beetel 450TC1 ADSL2+ Wifi router. Voila... it worked as normal Wifi router and I am able access the wimax modem diagnosis page from my Laptop.. Now waiting to get the login credentials... will update.. Narrow_Band_Minus 7 Report post Posted September 17, 2010 Great! 21 dB CINR is good CINR is fluctating sometimes.. In a range of 12 to 22. Will this affect my net connection / speed ?
Arun 795 Report post Posted September 17, 2010 The speed may fluctuate as well in that case if it goes as low as 12. How far away is the tower from your place? For me it did not go below 20 and the tower is half a kilometer away from my house.
Narrow_Band_Minus 7 Report post Posted September 18, 2010 The speed may fluctuate as well in that case if it goes as low as 12. How far away is the tower from your place? For me it did not go below 20 and the tower is half a kilometer away from my house. Got the uname/passwd now. BSNL WimAx is Super !!!!! now CINR is quite stable 20-22. Not going below 19 for sure. speedtest.net statistics attached : Though I am able to open the modem diagnos page using the wifi router , I am not able to open any other internet pages. I feel that , I may need to do something with that wifi modem ( Its already setup with Airtel Broadband). Can any one help me ?
Narrow_Band_Minus 7 Report post Posted September 18, 2010 Getting good download speed. Upload speed not so good. Signal strength also not going below 20 dB's Some one help me to configure the ASDL+ wifi modem with this wimax conn.
Narrow_Band_Minus 7 Report post Posted September 18, 2010 I just reset the ADSL+ Wifi Modem to Factory Settings. Aha !!! Wifi is working now. But speed is very less in Wifi .. Any idea why ? Is there any way to attain the same wimax speed ?
Arun 795 Report post Posted September 18, 2010 There should not be any difference in speed when using over WiFi especially when you are using Automatic settings in the wifi router. I don't know if AirTel has some special configurations in it though. Get a Linksys or Netgear router if the problem persists.
Narrow_Band_Minus 7 Report post Posted September 19, 2010 Though I reset to Factory settings , there was some special setting which was pointing to one airtel url / port. Disabled that setting and now wifi also working fine..
