nitink 279 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 i spoke to HTC India, they said they are aware of the sms issue and we need to take our handset to their service center and they will do a software update to sort this problem. I asked them why they dont pass on a OTA update to all and sundry for which she said that not everyone is facing this issue so the only way is to go to their service center and ask for a software update. I did reset yesterday around 5 PM as mentioned above started receiving SMS received last SMS till 730 AM today. Didn't installed any application. Only default apps got updated. Pls help. Is there any way to divert to previous version as I was receiving SMS before up gradation to Kit kat. just back after visiting their service center in kamla nagar. indeed they have a fix for sms as confirmed earlier by HTC india and also their SE in Kamla Nagar. It took about 15 to 20 minutes and added some files to the system which as per them is the sms fix. . I had also complained about the high battery usage after kitkat for which he asked me if he should do a complete software install which i agreed too. He flashed a 1.5GB file from a sd card which took a bit of time. They get a list of known issues and the only one for the DS 802d is sms with cdma. He categorically told me that no purple camera issue has been reported on DS version as of now. Anyways now with the software fix done, I hope this sms issue is solved for good. and yes they unlock the bootloader and insert some files in the system for the sms issue and later lock it. How to root ? where we get good software after rooting ? thanks same as above. there are couple of roms - soul is a good one. development is there but you need to search and do a lot of self study to make everything work. So that means HTC is befooling by stating update of software will resolve the problem where as it is still persistent. Saurav - was your bootloader unlocked or locked.. I agreed and they returned my phone with kitkat. Since i was apprehensive that whether the fresh install would revert the sms fix he replied that the sms fix involves putting files in the system itself so they wont get wiped. ever since i got the sms fix done, i am receiving sms regularly.
