Nbw Against Reliance Infocom Md

Recommended Posts

Jagadhari, May 3 (UNI) Non-bailable warrants (NBWs) have been issued against the Reliance Infocom Managing Director and the Ambala Branch Manager of the company by Yamunanagar Consumer court, Haryana on a contempt petition.

The petition was filed against the Reliance Infocom by Neeraj Jain of Jagadhari who had taken a mobile connection under the company's 'Dhirubhai Ambani Pioneer Offer' by paying Rs 3000 and 12 post-dated cheques of Rs 1800 each.

Neeraj, however, surrendered the connection to the company after paying his last bill for August, 2003. He had complained that he did not get the package promised by the company.

The mobile company however sent his post-dated cheque for September to the bank which bounced. The bank imposed a fine of Rs 200 on Neeraj who later approached the Consumer court.

After hearing the case, the court gave a ruling in November, 2004 asking the company to pay damages of Rs 3200 to Neeraj along with 12 per cent interest.

When the company failed to pay him the damages, Nereaj filed a contempt of court petition against it and the court yesterday issued NBWs against the two officials returnable on May nine.
