st_7 138 Report post Posted January 20, 2014 @HarshaRim, you said you can use CDMA, so it's not completely waste of money, you can use it on any CDMA network.

::: VA ::: 531 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 I have bought a new Moto x Verizon with omh and gsm support. It's showing KitKat update moment I connect Wi-Fi. Is it safe to install it? Without losing unlocked mode. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk

KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted February 23, 2014 Have you retained root? Is it 4.4 KitKat? If so, then next KK update 4.4.2 is coming in a matter of days, afaik... If you want to retain root access, wait before taking 4.4.2 update and have a close look at xda. Root for 4.4.2 will be eventually be available, but its NOT at all going to be a simple task, let alone one click, afaik. Afaik, root for Droid phones running KitKat 4.4 are NOT released to public, because Moto may patch the vulnerability in next 4.4.2 update. So, once 4.4.2 was rolled out to all Droid (MAXX, Mini and Ultra) phones, we may see root procedure (not going to be a one-click or simpler task again). But root for X is a different story. Root for 4.2.2 is available for X and Droid models. And for X already running 4.4 can be downgraded to 4.2.2 and get root and update to 4.4 + root retained. But in case of Droid models which got 4.4 after X, this flaw is corrected and downgrade of firmware is stopped by doing a signature check, before flashing via stock recovery. I can see a mild light coming from other end of tunnel. If my MAXX got root, then it will be the best mobile at that moment (for me atleast).
::: VA ::: 531 Report post Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) I don't require root in Moto x as its for my dad. Yes it has retained everything on omh but gsm not tested. Tested again I was on Wi-Fi. No data on omh, only call and sms. It's on 4.4 right now. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2 Edited February 24, 2014 by ::: VA :::
