If anyone is using Airtel 4G on the LG G2 LS980, then you can help here.

I'm on 4.2.2 / ZV8.

GSM permanent unlocking done using Vinod Nayak's method.

Inserted the new Airtel 128kb 4G sim card.

Voice, sms working. Data also working but only showing 'E' or 'H'. Shows 3G only for a few seconds and shifts back to 'H'.

Any settings to be changed in Mobile Networks. I've kept it currently on 'Global'.

Any way to get 4G??

980 does not support 4g on 2300 band.

H is 3G+...Dont worry

Hello G2 Touchscreen Issue - Erratic Behavior

I am currently on ZVA 4.2.2 stock, unrooted. Did this by going to complete stock, unroot on ZV8 and taking OTA update. Further OTAs are not progressing, keeping the phone on ZVA.

I am getting the System Update Downloaded notification to go from ZVA_01 to ZVC_12, but even after installation, it stays on ZVA. Asks me to update the Profile in System Updates prior to install. When I try to update Profile, it shows "Network Error. Please try after some time"

I want to update to ZVG official or ZVG Ultra pop. Don't mind losing CDMA capabilities, just want to run the GSM sim. Will I have to go step by step taking OTAs for each update or can I jump to ZVG from ZVA?

Please post the steps or links to do this. Don't want to brick the device.

Install autorec for LP and update to latest TWRP

Debloat as per requirement

Dont forget to install correct autorec for LP or you will get stuck in security error --- most important

CDMA or GSM both work with data

hi, i bought LG g2 LS980 two days ago from ebay, i got CDMA/GSM unlocked device where reliance cdma(call, sms n data) worked fine, n gsm also.

then as its running on jellybeen, i thought of updating it to nightly cm12.1. i rooted my device, installed twrp n tried flashing cm12.1

but i got error like "error updating binary". and my fone was struck on lg logo.

after so much of google, i finally installed stock 4.2.2 again in my device, via lg flash tool, tot method.

Now my fone is powered on n no cdma n gsm sims r detecting, so again i tried unlocking sims by method mentioned by @Vinod nayak.

i got succesfull with gsm sims, but reliance cdma is not detecting.

i also took a twrp backup of os came with my device in which both cdma n gsm worked.

so now i need my fone to run reliance cdma. plz help me in doing so. Thanks in advance

LG G2 VZN VS980 Data not working CDMA

Hello guys,

I got LG G2 VS980. All works fine with GSM. In my area there is issue with GSM signal, they are very weak so I got myself RIM CDMA OHM SIM. It was normal SIM so got it cut and installed in the phone. Now everything working fine except Data. I checked setting and configured the APN as well still no data. It shows 3G icon on top but its grayed out. Can you help me with this? I got it checked with local RCOM store as well, he checked few things and said setting seems fine and registered a complaint and told me I would get call from technical dept. APN setting I saved are below:

APN: #777

user name and password: "net" tired blank as well.

Authentication type: PAP or CHAP

APN: Enabled

Please suggest something to make data work.

I personally have not tried it, but many have confirmed RUIM to work, some have claimed data does not work on Sprint.

i bought ls980 recently and upgraded it to zvg lollipop. im using reliance cdma on it. after upgrading it i`m not receiving SMSes at all.
someone please tell me what are the settings for receiving SMSes.
also i`m using "RECRU 05" series sim. please let me know if i have to try some other series sim.

I was on rooted ZVG. Roaming menu was missing in settings. So, I tinkered with the build.prop file and changed SPR to spr. Now phone keeps giving me android.phone has stopped and settings have stopped pop-ups. No custom recovery was installed. I did a factory / data reset. I cannot access settings to enable Debug. I'm able to sideload adb from recovery, but the phone is not accepting the zip files. Please help. I need to go back to stock ZV8. Thanks
