PKC19 11 Report post Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) Thanks. the issue was with Diag being enabled once disabled it worked perfectly. One nob question once unlocked via fastboot and installing a recovery will it be necessary to install custom rom or will the current one work. Need to acquire root access for only enabling the wi fi tether as explained by Hitesh in different post or is there any other way to acquire the same. ::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted April 16, 2014 No need of custom rom Current rom is OK . To get root access install twrp recovery, when u reboot from twrp it will ask for rooting the phone. Root from there , then after reboot SuperSU will be installed automatically over mobile data or over WiFi. Then u can follow WiFi tether guide Sent by Moto G on Reliance CDMA
varkey 51 Report post Posted April 18, 2014 After flashing the recovery (cwm)... when i try to boot into recovery (from fastboot)... Its shows an open android bot with a triangle saying no command. Not sure what that means. Maybe there is nothing in the recovery partition at the moment. Suggestions anyone? EDIT : Now working. Flashed the recovery partition again. This time twrp. And now rooted. I was getting the same error with TWRP 2.6.3.2, flashing 2.6.3.3 worked. Not sure what was wrong.

I have to again install ROM or it just write files on existing ROM 1:- It doesn't have any impact on battery performance. 2:- you don't have to install any ROM just install recovery by Fastboot. ::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted April 26, 2014 ^^^ TWRP is not a ROM, Its just a recovery, It wont replace your existing system partition, All android phones have a recovery partition to do maintainance, TWRP will replace factory basic recovery then you can do advance task like backup rom from custom recovery (twrp) Also you can try custom roms / base-band / kernels etc.. Grr7 5 Report post Posted August 24, 2014 Its not the radio , something in base system. I am on KitKat 4.4.4 with panaroid custom rom, everything works perfectly Sent from my Moto G using Tapatalk 2 Hitesh, What is the best way to backup all data for a noob like me. I want to unlock bootloader so as to remove some annoying features like voicemail notification, startup activation as well as restriction on wifi tethering. Should I follow conventional method of copying all the audios, videos and other media via OTG and use google account synchronization for saved contacts or is there a better integrated solution available? Regards
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted August 25, 2014 @Grr7 Ur contacts are sync with Google so no need to backup that. I use go sms app which have backup function. For other things , I use manual copy paste . If you want to backup apps with its data, use "Backup Manager Pro" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.frogcoders.backup.manager Sent from my Moto G using Tapatalk 2

::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted September 29, 2014 This isn't a problem , after flashing recovery , you should boot to recovery to confirm its working. If you don't boot to recovery , stock recovery will come back. Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk
