To receive the KitKat ZVC OTA you have to COMPLETE stock without root and Stock Recovery a MUST. Without the above i dont suggest anybody to update if you get OTA, but then you are welcome to try just dont blame anyone here for a brick !! Access phone settings Access Apps Go to all, In all access Google Services Framework Use clear data and clear cache Once the Data and Cache of Google Services Framework is cleared Access System Updates Access Update LG Software You Should get a screen with dates 1/1/1970, In the same screen Check for update. now i dont have that screen since i got the update after many tries. Got the update by Force I got this after a few tries, just keep doing it till you get it. Will update about the GSM unlock, root, Wi-Fi hotspot & other essential information. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk Yes downgrading to ZV8 ABOOT will break download mode. Flash ZVC Radio to fix download mode. TWRP is very much possible with ZVC. I did the research and now on to it. Received my LS980 last day. EDIT: Decided to stay TWRPless for a bit more. Please read the post below. ev1lb0ygen1us 27 Report post Posted April 9, 2014 (edited) UPDATE: Please hold on to flash TWRP before someone finds a better way. As of now Download mode and TWRP wont work at the same time. Once you flash TWRP using flashify app, it wont boot to the custom recovery unless the phone is downgraded to ZV8 aboot. But this will break Download Mode. So if you need to use Download mode, flash ZVC Radio to fix download mode, but this will break recovery this time. Inorder to use TWRP, you need to downgrade aboot again. WARNING: IF YOU DOWNGRADE TO ZV8 ABOOT WITHOUT FLASHING THE TWRP, IT WILL RESULT IN HARD BRICK!! RECOMMEND NOT TO TRY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE SURE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING. prayan 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2014 Even i have the same problem i downloaded the update to ZVC thrice and after the automatic reboot still it shows 4.2 as the software version.
