The new plan called NJ 99, includes monthly rental of Rs 99 and caller line identification presentation (CLIP) and plan charges of Rs 25 each as applicable on all postpaid plans of RelianceIndiaMobile (RIM). This marks Reliance Infocomm's foray into the rapidly growing sub-Rs 100 market that accounts for almost 50% of the industry s average monthly post-paid net additions of 4, 00,000. "NJ 99 is among the country's cheapest and best plans to go mobile with an aggressive entry cost and low monthly commitment. It will help us garner a large share of the entry-level market," said Inder Bajaj, Head - Postpaid Business, Reliance Infocomm. The plan also features an intra-circle tariff of Rs 1.50 for calls to all Reliance phones and Rs 2.20 for calls to other networks. Since most Reliance handsets double up as modems, subscribers in this segment can also log on to (at the prevailing tariffs) the Internet via the R Connect facility. Additionally, they will get to access R World - RIM's data suite with over 150 applications including MMS, railway reservations and m-commerce. Users can choose from 26 Reliance handsets starting at Rs 2,499 for a black and white handset and Rs 4,999 for a color handset.
