It indicates that it can be rooted. We may have to do some work on it OR XDA may help. there is no hotsopt in LG tribute.... Of course he refused to reveal the method how he did it, but I think we should concentrate on how to activate it officially through a 4G sim or may be some other way. I went to Sprint site and completed the activation steps, replaced the original SIM which came with the phone and reset all parameters. (##72786#) Then connected to WiFi and it actually activated over WiFi (Took some 10 min). Now the Hotspot option shows up and no more activation popup! YAY! Connected to EVDO and the WiFi hotpot works without any further changes. AWESOME! But the Handsfree activation thing popped up again after I restarted Probably cause I changed the SIM? But it is not accepting the MEID enterd, i trided all the options A****, also the MEID listed 3541**** in the Box. There was a problem with the MEID/ESN you provided. Thanks Varkey, I'm able to activate WIFI hotspot using the sprint activation method. I left the SPC to 000000 itself. Picture for reference - 2 - visit reliance store and transfer your cdma no to the new RGER UC XXXX series RUIM. 3 - insert new into handset, then go to SETTINGS>MORE>MOBILE NETWORKS>ACCESS POINT NAMES. now you can see a + sign in top. picture for reference - 4 - click on + sign and fill the setting as below - name - RCOM apn - #777 proxy - leave blank port - leave blank user name - net password - net server - leave blank MMSC - leave blank mms proxy - leave blank mms port - leave blank mcc - 404 mnc - 00 authentication type - PAP or CHAP apn type - leave blank apn protocol - leave blank bearer - leave blank then save the settings and select the RCOM profile. hurray.. enjoy.. just enable the data.
