djrocks 5 Report post Posted October 1, 2015 It is Always better to stay on 5.0.2 in Moto E, only in case when your phone is not active and you are not able to use Hotspot on 5.0.2 , in that case only activate phone (Sprint (personally tested) + boost ) on carrier site via very easy step by step procedure (No need to pay anything). After activation check in setting- Device activation- Your phone will show device active and show the number which u select from activation site. Thanks, as the phone i am getting has already been activated on Sprint for testing by the seller, i will put the sim inside and test the same to see what all works. kenpet22 2 Report post Posted December 5, 2015 I have purchased Sprint Moto E 2nd Gen (XT1526) that was previously activated on Sprint's MVNO (RingPlus). The seller told me that UICC Lock Status shows that it is unlocked for international use. Domestically (in USA), it will only work on Sprint. The phone has Lollipop 5.1, but it should work here in India as per UICC Lock Status. This seems to be consistent with what others have reported here...that Sprint/Boost Moto E 2nd Gen data works overseas even with Android 5.1. Based on what I have read recently, it seems Verizon Moto E XT1528 with 5.1 is still an issue. Voice/SMS works, but not 3G/4G data. Has anyone identified a workaround for XT1528? Sprint/Verizon Moto E doesn't support LTE band class 40 (TDD LTE), hence it can only use 3G data (EVDO on Reliance/Tata/BSNL) or (WCDMA(UMTS,HSDPA/UPA) on Airtel/Vodafone/) in India. The person who sold me this phone told me that hotspot is not working, but everything else will work. Now while going through this thread, I came across posts which mention steps to enble hotspot through online activation. But when I put MEID No, following msz displays - There was a problem with the MEID/ESN provided. Double-check it was entered correctly and try again. Otherwise, please call Customer Care.
