magician_sayed 5 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 Finally I ported out from RCDMA to IDEA. In chennai yesterday. From past 2 months I suffered a lot due to Reliance network problem no idea is working great even I am not a big data user. Idea gave me a good offer 2000 minutes local calls with 3gb 4 G data promotional offer for rs499. Sent from my Z1 using Tapatalk
vakharia 23 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) And now, I can finally latch on to Reliance network. It is a 2G network with -95 dBm strength in office - which is quite low compared to Idea/ Vodafone etc. Data connects and disconnects immediately. Reliance portal still shows my number is Idle Customer Number Status: Idle How do I check for balance? Edit: Cannot make or receive calls/ messages though there is network. So, perhaps I need to wait longer. Edited June 1, 2016 by vakharia

inception 75 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 3 hours ago, nuhearts said: Anyone from Kolkata has got the patch done? My new sim (reliance 4g) goes live 2 days back in Kolkata over 2G/3G. only incoming calls, texts worked fine but no outgoing can be made. But from today morning there is no network. Today I visited Shyampukur store, they told SIM is active, put the sim on their phone, manually registration to Reliance 2G/3G failed. Then they give me another new 4G SIM and told it will work after 5pm today. Well it's working now. The Reliance store was looking like a BSNL office - long queue, old people standing, agitated customers and chaos. Regarding data not working, they told it will take another 2 days and after 1,week 4G of RCom will be kickstarted. Then I can get post migration 10GB Data & all. I am still without network (GSM) and my CDMA number is marked inactive in Reliance Portal. So, I am in no-man's-land. I dont know whether u have alredy tried this. If not, then go to sim toolkit activate national roaming. it may work. Edited June 1, 2016 by Proud-Indian
KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 If your data is not working...then you require it...else your sim already has this patch. This pertains only to activated 4g sims with voise/SMS working. A better way is asking for sim swap to new series sim [may 2016] where data works without the need to patch. It's much better than banging our head at the useless store guys. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
aalok 442 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 reliance mobile stores are looting customers and it seems, company officials are aware / promoting such things.. what i came to know is, officially 4g SIM is free for everyone, be it prepaid or postpaid, and recharge of 1 Rs. is also free.. RMS are taking undue advantage by taking 25 / 100 / 150 / 200 or even 250 from ignorant customers. 😠 BTW, cdma is still working with evdo, in lucknow.. 😝 Sent from my HTC Desire 816 dual sim using Tapatalk
ti_user 12 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 @nitink Go to any trusted retailer/distributor in your area, they'll get it done. Airtel, VF shop guys are only interested in postpaid subs, and use such excuses to avoid porting in prepaid subs.

Sent from my K016 using Tapatalk Here too in Baroda, cdma is working. For one number, I have applied for 4G upgrade, even that sim is active in cdma. But, not a primary number so can't use much. Wish Reliance should have planned death of cdma in more honorable way. At least, I would have ensured to call at length for last few days of cdma, as after gsm upgrade, I hate talking to on on phone, as voice clarity is missing. Both, MTS & RCOM had the best call quality network. No idea about, tata docomo & bsnl. Thanks to faramroze, I have temporarily ensured that my great cdma only LG G Vista phone doesn't turn into brick..Will be trying out docomo & bsnl to see, what is better. demail2006 3 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 I observed same call quality and clarity in pune as earlier on cdma and also no call drops while moving (to office) as earlier and now coverage is much better for me (at home) which was pathetic for me at home including data. I am getting 26 kbps in edge in speedtest which seems good to me.

ranpreet 2 Report post Posted June 2, 2016 Got Migrated on 30th May in the evening, No SMS , CDMA suddenly stopped working , changed the SIM , as did not have a 4G phone , i put the sim in my Blackberry Bold 4, Pathetic Network, No Network at my house... outside the network is very patchy... SMS was not working initially but now working . Voice Quality is very poor, call drop a norm Ported out to Tata Indicom on 31st May , waiting for Porting to happen. Hate to loose Reliance CDMA but no other choice i have, i was with Reliance due to the superior CDMA network, however that's not the case anymore
