sandeepjaipur 1 Report post Posted May 26, 2016 Hello, I am using Moto X Republic CDMA unlocked phone, I purchased from one seller. being daily i am getting sms from Reliance that upgrade to 4G, CDMA network going to close on 28th May. I read earlier that this Moto X phone will work on GSM too by putting GSM SIM. Pl suggest how to set this phone as GSM phone. so that I can save this absolutely fine working phone. andrey.nk 1 Report post Posted December 4, 2016 you can't use RW moto x xt1049 as GSM phone without flashing firmware from other carrier or unlocked version. So if u have unlocked bootloader, you have to flash xt1056 firmware and follow guide for gsm unlock for xt1056 sprint (you can found it on xda easily) and get fully operational gsm phone. Otherwise, If you have factory locked bootloader without possibility to unlock it (check it via motorola official site: google for moto x bootloader official unlock, there are some guide) - u can unlock gsm without outgoing calls/texts only. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
