Beginning Monday, this travel happy state will have another flying option ‘Spice Jet’, with airfares as low as second class air conditioned tickets in railways. Now one can fly to Mumbai from Ahmedabad for Rs 449, Delhi for Rs 649 and Bangalore for Rs 749. “Ahmedabad is among the premier industrial hubs in India and will be a very strategic market for Spice Jet. We plan to introduce multiple flights linking Ahmedabad with rest of the country. Seventy years after my family left Gujarat, I am delighted to return and contribute to the growth and development of my homeland,” said Bhupendra Kansagra, director of Spice Jet. “SpiceJet’s offering of over 30,000 ‘Red Hot Special Fares’ starting at Rs 99 for the first 99 days of its operation has been booked in the very first day. Its internet booking starting on Tuesday,” said a senior official of one of the leading travel agent in Ahmedabad. The ‘Red Hot Special Fares’ are also available at Rs 499 and Rs 799, after the web based booking discount of Rs 50 is applied to all Red Hot Special Fares. SpiceJet will offer over 9,000 seats and all flights for these special fares. “In a price sensitive market like Ahmedabad, we can only win customer confidence by reducing prices without comprising on quality and reliability. We are confident that our low fares will create a new segment of air travellers. We promise to redefine the concept of value flying in India,” said Ajay Singh, director, Spice Jet. SpiceJet’s internet site enables the passengers to price shop, manage bookings and even select their seat in advance at the time of booking. As Internet direct distribution reduces the airlines costs, these savings will be passed along to its passengers in the form of a Rs 50 discount for every one-way flight booking made over the internet. On all SpiceJet flights, complimentary water and light snacks will be served to the customers. With new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft, cutting edge technology and professional management, Spice Jet promises to deliver comfortable and consistent on-time performance. SpiceJet offers assigned seating for all the passengers at the airport check-in counters.
