Chirag 5 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 It is def possible to clone GSM handsets. But i didn't completely understand how u establish the fact tat ur handset was clonned? Can u give more details? In any case, u can go to the nearest HUTCH Outlet and let them know that u think ur handset sim has been clonned and u want to keep it on a check by the provider. Arun 795 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 Do one thing, switch off your phone, and try dialling your number from another phone and see if it rings or not. Try this at several times to confirm, in case it rings.
Sadikk 301 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 Well as of now sim cloning is not possible in india, coz cloning of sim is quite costly if done in grey market. and u saying u had given ur sim to hutch to convert swrvice and they have cloned it thn i am not sure. u can request details of ur out going calls from hutch, and just check if there is any number which u haven't made any call. enticer86 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2005 (edited) Ya i tried switching it off and all but it doesnt ring. I suspect clonig because i had given my sim no to various people to convert my no to a postpaid no.; and i keep chek of my outstanding balance etc and i find that a mistake of 3-4 bucks is normally there. Maybe the person just wanna play. I hav already paid advance rental for 2 yrs. Should i just throw and deactivate the number or just replacing the sim would be enuf.. jigshot1 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2005 Sim clonning is only possible when you give your simcard to someone. Also these days "Ki" number of the sim is hard to crack so it would normally take around 4 hrs to crack it with software. Easiest way out of these is to just simply replace the old simcard with the New simcard. Hutch people will charge you around Rs.250/- for this new simcard. enticer86 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2005 OK.I contacted the customer care ppl and they confirmed that NO MMS were sent by my #.Whts more, one can't send any mms to ne1 except airtel and hutch if u r using hutch. And i had to giv my sim and sim no twice because the first agent cud not convert my connection to postpaid.; then i had to giv it to some other person. Anyways, i had surrendered my phone and it now lies in my father's LOCKER, Still, 30-40 bucks were used up automatically. Do you think that just replacing the sim will solve the problem?
