Error 721 Remote Ppp Peer Is Not Responding 2280

Recommended Posts

Hi guys , I have Nokia 2280 and my PC's OS is Winxp , I have a data cable (DKU-5) and i have installed Rconnect to my pc. Every thing is fine , the modem is detected the cable drivers are ok , but when i try to dial , after "Validating Username and password" for more than a minute i get a 721 Error message which says Remote PPP peer is not responding. The *333 guys have no clue bout it , tried uninstalling and reinstaling several times, even got the technical Pro. But even he couldnt figure it out , so any clues?

Hi,

Can you confirm that r-connect been activated on your phone, by calling CC on *333.

One more reason could be that your PPP Dial Up Adater settings been messed up, check it

out.

Error 721, PPP remote peer not responding, will appear when the modem does not receive an answer from the Reliance PPP servers.

Assuming there is nothing wrong with your data cable, follow the given steps, it may help you nail down the problem.

A. Disable Multi-link for single link connections

1. From the desktop, right-click My Network Places.

2. Click Properties.

3. From the Network and Dial-up Connections window, right-click rconnect.

4. Click Properties.

5. From the Networking tab, click Settings.

6. From the PPP Settings dialog box, click to clear Negotiate multi-link for single link

connections. Click OK.

7. Click OK.

8. Close the Network and Dial-up Connections window.

B.Verify TCP/IP is bound to the modem within the network stack

1. From the desktop, right-click My Network Places.

2. Click Properties.

3. From the Network and Dial-up Connections window, right-click rconnect.

4. Click Properties.

5. From the Networking tab, verify that Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) is selected as a

component that is used by the rconnect connection. Click OK.

6. Close the Network and Dial-up Connections window.

BTW which number you"re dialing to, #777 or some another ?

Hi,

I am also facing the same problem for my LG LSP340E handset. I am using a laptop which doesn't have a Serial port so I am using USB to Serial converter and have done all the required setting. But still I am getting the same 721 error. I am using #777 for dialing and have used the latest software available on reliance site for RConnect.

Please help..

Thanks,

Ninad
