Yeah, we are now in the process of cleaning (deleting) old and unwanted topics. Members can help us in identifying such topics by clicking the "Report" button. Also, a couple of sub forums will be added soon to decrease the cluter. Anyway, the 'Search' feature will be helpful in finding specific topics.

I had a suggestion for the old posts.U need not delete any post if u don't bother about the space and bandwidth. For the topics u think which are discussed enough and don't need to be discussed further just make a subforum in some forum and name that subforum as archieve and make that read only content. This way u will not any of those posts and also those topics will be closed on their own.

Today many own GTran handset. Therefore my view is that GTran must be enlisted out of other handsets into the main category. Similar to the way in which LG, Samsung, Motorola, Nokia have been enlisted.

I think it really needs to sort out few things.

Firstly the target audience, if this forum is basically meant to improve consumer consciousness wrt to RIM then the forums growth will be limited, rather stunted. Self explanatory.Reliance services are only improving, problems and chaos has reduced dramatically. Less people will be inclined to weep on the shoulder of Rimweb.com.

Secondly, creativity is almost dropped to zero. Techinical and programming really needs a revamp, I think it has seized to be the cream of rimweb.com NO OFFENSE and please correct me if I am wrong, but yes, discussion on cloning/hacking etc. are totally banned.

Thirdly, Diversification is required and an affiliation to GSM discussions will go a long way. The name RIMWEB.com itself has put intrinsic restrictions. This means that the MAXIMUM target audience is 70million reliance users, but how many of these GAREEB users and defaulters would really bother for such healthy discussion.

It is just my view, and I hope it would be taken as a constructive criticism. Again No offense..

We've already worked onto 1 aspect of ur point. In a way we wanted to remain RIM exclusive coz Reliance Infocomm is bound to grow by leaps n bounds and we want to gather its customers as our members. We dont want to take a huge plunge into the entire telecom market of india and then weep at the chaos at the site! Its already a huge job monitoring the no. of posts these days!

Anyways, as of now, we've joined hands with a Co-Forum called BLANKSMS.com(which caters to GSM subscribers) and their members who wanna post abt RELIANCE wud be redirected to our site! and u can see quite well that The link sharing procedure is completed now. We've added a link to their FORUM in the General Chat section, while they've added us in the Indian Networks section.

Such developments wud keep happening and we'd always need ur help and suggestions!

Rim web is working very well but it will be much better if data is little bit more organized. In technical section we are sharing the ring tones and wallpaper which are in no way concerned with technical section.

I suggest the administrators to add a section named Fun.

Fun should have categories like Ring tones, wallpapers, Sms and such other entertainment which can be used on RIM.

Ring tones must be classified into sub categories like midi, dat etc.

To download attachments I use Gozilla. But it fails to capture the link. I have to disable gozilla to download files on rimweb.com

If possible please enable the download of attachments by download managers.

In technical section we are sharing the ring tones and wallpaper which are in no way concerned with technical section.

The technical section is hidden from Guests.

I mean a non-registered user can't access Technical section.

Thats the reason i think mods added this topic in Technical section.

So that only members of this forum can d/l or u/l rt and wallpapers.

If possible please enable the download of attachments by download managers.

Its not that we have disabled Download Managers..

Its that your download manager doesnt accept redirects from server..

Try downloading some others like Flashget etc..

Hi Mods, Super Mods and Admin,

First thanks to Arun for their help regarding my previous topic, “RIMWEB access through mobile”, now its somewhat confirm that this problem is either due to google or Jatayu software. I watch that same problem when I access RIMWEB through google in my PC. But it happens only one time when my RConnect disconnect when I try to connect RIMWEB through google. After that I must say “Arun you are not like Reliance Customer Care!”!!!

Now I want share something with our mods and admins.

1. Yesterday, I start a topic related to Best Computer Configuration; I am attaching a file related to the matter of the topic, which is deletes by respected mods. This topic is also seeing by the Vishal. But no one tell me the reason of deletion of this topic. I also have a new topic regarding the PC Problem. I want details, whether I can start this type topic or not and also which type topic could not start in General Technical Forum.

2. I have some advice regarding above problem, if mods or admin want to delete a topic then please first closed the topic with some warning (so that we can understand which type topic is not post by us) and then deletes it after some days.

3. I also want some advice or suggestion from your side regarding the Porn matter or Vulgar Jocks used by the some rimwebians. Please check this, so any one who want to access the rimweb can access it without any problem Because our RIMWEB is also access by the Female and elderly members. I already made the post in respective topic regarding this.

4. I want some modification is RIMWEB LOFI version, because this version is related to the WAP service, (i.e. I means it can fully access by the RIM also). If it is possible than decrease the size of page of LOFI version. So we can access it some fast. In present, when we access this, some pages are managed in 60 pages in MOBILE (i.e. 1 page of PC is about equal to the 60 page of mobile). Please help me!

5. When I want to contact to the mods, I have to search the respective mode. Can it possible to add a menu named Post To Us at board. So if we have any problem or suggestion, we can make post to the mods or admin by clicking on this menu.

It’s a very long post. I hope I didn’t bore u.

Rajan ... Though I am not a mod / Admin, and though I do not have any grudge / ill feeling towards u, there are a couple of things I would like to mention here...

Most of the posts, we see now, seems like TIME-Killers.... cause the forum name is RIMWEB.com not "Discuss-all-that-computer-config.com", we've been seeing a lot of un-necessary gabble in the last couple of days .... I mean such posts are .... well responded to, but can u tell me "IS THERE A CREATIVE ASPECT HERE?" or is it gonna be useful in anyway? I have a config of one of my machines as P4(D*2)2.8*2, 1 GB RAM, 1.6 TB HDD .... now well this will be a dream config for many, but so what ?

I support your point number 2. but I guess most mods inform before closing a thread.

well ... there are mods around. The word "PORN" does not make a post offensive, dude u sure need a breath! I mean come into the open, and think, do u think that people who browse these forums are all that "SEEDHA-SAADHA" that u feel offensive about a few words.... not even targetted at anyone ?

As u say about porn. No one is SHEEDA SADA. I am also not. But i think porn matter or use of porn should not be used in public forum like rimweb. Its not comment for a particular person.

For the issue related to Technical Discussion! I am still trying to understand the nature and the limit of this forum. So i discuss it with respective mods. If u also have some comment about any then please send me ur comment also.

If ane have any comment regarding this matter. Please send me ur comment here! After all this will be great for RIMWEB.

Well Rajanpert, regarding the topic.

normally as far as possible when your topic is merged or removed, we inform the user. but there might be situations when this is not needed.

This forum aims towards discussions on reliance infocomm and its services.

Regarding your post, it doesnt make much sense here.. i mean it seems as a space filler. where u post for the sake of posting. I aint speaking against you dude dont get hurt.

Please see to the following when you make a new topic:

1. See whether a discussing related to this is already going on.

2. Is it really meant for this forum ?

3. Right section for posting.

For any of these 3 or any of your doubts, you can contact any of the mods here. i am sure they will be very happy to help you out.

We are happy that there are members who want to discuss the matters related to the forum, and then make a choice accordingly. I give u full points on it!! Its the best possible manner, quite diplomatic as well

Anyways, coming to the point about General Tech Forum. I'll try and describe the limits. The Forum "is" restricted to help required by fellow members regarding their General Tech Issues. That means, that if any member needs immediate help regarding his own PC or some technical thing, then he can make a post and fellow members can help him out.

That also means, that we dont need to create a topic in that forum to raise an issue. We need the issue first and then the topic!! I hope i am making myself clear!

If u need, we can list down atleast 10 more forums, which discuss General Tech Stuff in detail. But our forum is targetted towards Reliance Infocomm & its activities, largely, only. Hence we've also restricted discussions related to other Reliance Group Companies as well, at this forum in the past.

regarding porn!! Well, i do agree that if it goes out of certain limits, it needn't be here... really not reqd! There is plenty of stuff available for getting happy at other places, so keep out of such stuff here! "Intended Pun" is always welcome, but be in limit guys!

You can report about a post in the forum by clicking the "Report" button which you see under every post, through which you can notify the moderator of the forum, and Super Moderators/Administrators about any problem you are having with that topic/post. All other suggestions/problems should be posted here for open discussion.

i do not want to decrease the number of page of LOFI, i want to reduce the size of a LOFI page so we can also see it with the help of mobile. Presently, A page of LOFI is equal to about 60 page in some forum. But i see one thing special that size of a page in the present thread (Replying to Suggestions/Recommentdations/Complaints) is about only 24 page of mobile and whereas the size of a page in List of freeware software is about 85 page in mobile.

Please check this if possible,

As of now, there isn't much options which can be configured for the Lo-fi version under the Admin Control Panel of Invision Power Board. I've checked the ACP in a beta version of the latest IPB, couln't find options for Lo-Fi version in it either.
