One-state-one-rate From Reliance Infocomm

Recommended Posts

:clap: DAKC (Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City), Navi Mumbai, June 27, 2005

Reliance IndiaMobile subscribers in the states of Maharashtra and Goa, West Bengal and Andaman Nicobar Islands, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu now get an unmatched value proposition in tariff as the company has rationalized its tariff structures in line with the recent Department of Telecommunications (DoT) circular, making calls in these states local.

All calls from Reliance India Mobile to any mobile within these areas would now be treated as local calls.

Consequently, Reliance subscribers using the Rs 440 or Rs 220 vouchers can now make unlimited calls to any other Reliance Mobile between Mumbai - Rest of Maharashtra - Goa, Chennai - Rest of Tamil Nadu, UP (E) - UP (W) and Kolkata - West Bengal - Andamans.

Similarly, as per the new 'One-State-One-Rate-Plan' applicable from June 20, RIM Pre-paid subscribers of these circles moving to the adjacent circle (But part of the same state) do not have to pay for incoming calls at all. Incoming calls while roaming within these locations were earlier charged at Rs 1.79/ min.

The new postpaid plans in these circles come into force with effect from June 28, 2005.

As a result, subscribers of Joy 149 Postpaid plan in these areas who have been paying Rs 2.49 per minute for calls from Reliance to other mobiles will now be paying Rs 1.79. Calls from Reliance-to-Reliance mobile will now be charged a reduced tariff of Rs 99 paise, against the previous tariff of Rs 1.79.

With this change, customers would not have to pay for incoming calls when they roam between these circles. There is, however, no change in the calls from Reliance mobiles to all fixed line phones.

Reliance Infocomm Ltd., an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises group company, is India's largest private information and communications services provider, with a subscriber base of over 11 million. Reliance Infocomm has established a pan-India, high-capacity, integrated (wireless and wireline), convergent (voice, data and video) digital network, to offer services spanning the entire Infocomm value chain. The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises group, is a member of the Reliance Group, founded by Shri Dhirubhai H. Ambani (1932-2002).

The DOT notification unites the circles only for calls made to Mobile Phones, and not to landlines. However, calls made from Landline to mobile have been made local. So calls from FWP/FWT should also be considered local. Reliance took more than a month to implement the changes on mobile tariffs, lets see how long will they take to updat landline tariffs

:confuse: Got an Idea !

Assume Following

1. If you belongs to maharashtra and living in mumbai (JOb or buisness)

2. if 70% or more are incomming calls from maharashtra.

then

go and take a number from any location of maharashtra and use that phone in mumbai.

benifit

========

1. caller will be charge at less rate.

i.e Rs 1.20 (3 min) landline

Rs 1.75 Idea user

2. u will able to call in mumbai at local charge only.

3. calls from mumbai cell phone user will be charge at local rate

4. if u have reliance FWP at home u can tell them to go for unlimited calls.

problem

==========

1. you will not able to recive calls from PCO (mumbai) but maharashtra & Goa (PCO) can call u :confuse::confuse::confuse:
