well kamz... if u have a Tata / Reliance handset (Nokia) which has a slot for R-UIM card (something shaped like a SIM card, but containing values for PRL etc instead of HLR location etc...

Now, since most of the CDMA operators whom we see dancing with their handsets in india, did not want the handsets to be used by other operators... so the Handsets R-UIM slots were blocked. So u connect only to the operator whose connection u have.

Now if u re-flash ur Nokia handset with a firmware that supports the R-UIM module , great! u have a choice between networks just by changing ur R-UIM cards..

I think GTRAN has a slot too, infact it does not work without a RUIM

As u say!

Will anybody please describe the procedure how can we enable it (Reflashing etc.).Presently, i have a GTRAN phone. Please help!

well we could surely explain the procedures *and mind u ... the procedures have already propped up on other forums (including the files) but u need specific equipment to burn the firmware ... so do not try that meddling part...

and if admins / mods feel that this topic can be continued (to the explaination part) I will be glad to do the honors... but since this topic is as sensitive as cloning ... I guess there might be objections...
