Rconnect Problems

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have manually setup my RConnect DUN connection. I have used the "at+crm=2..." commands, and set the dialup number as "#777" and put username and password as my phone number.

It connects successfully, assigns IP address and assigns DNS addresses as:

DNS 1) 97.253.25.9

DNS 2) 97.253.25.10

However, when I try to browse, no web addresses (http://www....) are resolved.

Even stranger, whatever web address I try to ping, I get the same IP address:

Eg:

===

ping www.google.com

Pinging www.google.com (24.240.159.229) with 32 bytes of data

Request timed out.

ping www.yahoo.com

Pinging www.yahoo.com (24.240.159.229) with 32 bytes of data

Request timed out.

ping www.rimweb.com

Pinging www.rimweb.com (24.240.159.229) with 32 bytes of data

Request timed out.

Can anyone connect to RConnect and tell me the DNS settings that they are getting?

:( Any ideas/suggestions on what may the be the problem? :help:

Config: Acer TravelMate / Win XP Home / Nokia 6225 ==> No special setup, alternate dialup connection works fine.

Cheers,

PRS

Nope IP address keeps changing. DNS addresses do not change, but something is fishy. Can you connect on R Connect and tell me what DNS server addresses you are getting?
