Actually I'm just looking to collect info from heavy users so I could make an effective decision to switch to RConnect.

Here is my usage on Dialup (BSNL)...

I got a PM from an admin saying that I might want to reduce the options in the forum to get better results. I'm quite amazed though. Some people say they get 10 ~ 20K speeds on RConnect.. So wouldn't that be enough to download a fairly large amount of data daily on an unlimited download plan?

Why dont u try broadband

the 'unlimited' post-paid plan in rconnect is not really unlimited i think.... there is this stupid issue of "credit limit".

coming back to your question, the r-connect speeds are pretty gud here in delhi, something like download speeds of 13- 17 KBps all the time and i've downloaded in excess of 5 GBs monthly many a time. but be warned, the sppeds differ a lot from city to city and no other city (namely - bangalore, calcutta, patna) have been able to give even half the speeds consistently that of delhi. so speeds vary a lot from city to city. plz check out with someone in ur city/town before opting for this to make sure ur not in for a bad surprise......all the best!!!

Okay, Well I don't plan to use the phone to make calls or anything so I think I should have no such issue with "Credit Limit" as posted by red shift. Or if there is something I should still know, enlighten me please.

Does anyone here download DivX movies using P2P softwares, mainly using Rconnect? If so, how many hours would you spend for the download?

I download DivX from every source, from ftp's ,https and also from P2P's but now I am on a cable line.... earlier I used to use R-Connect (dont remember how long it used to take there), but now it takes me about 2-3 days if it is a 700-800 MB movie.

yup, rougly two days - thats my standard for p2p divx movies approx 700mbits....

so tcp/ip, the 150mbits/night (as u had said earlier) is about the normal speeds we're used to. i guess i just didnt do the math there.

Check out Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story (DivX rip) approx 700MB... I got 250MB of it so far.. Its hillarious!!!
