vb86 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2005 I sm using a 512kbps dsl connection. My setup is as follows. The isp provides me with a phoneline along with a router. The phoneline goes into the router and a cat5 cable comes out of it. Now, i have bought a switch. So i put the cat5 cable into the switch port and two other wires from the other ports go into different comps. Another cable from the switch goes to a wireless router which is basically for a centrino laptop. Now there are two things: 1. When i telnet the isp router i see that the isp has changed my upstream/downstream from 512/256 to 8096/768. However my download speeds remain the same.. Is there any possible way of unlocking that speed. 2. Since im using a switch to split the net, i want to know that will tools like SG TCP optimizer work for me. (It basically changes MTU and latency settings along with others).
