basant_jp 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 Agree with you City, Reliance has so far come up with as many as 31 handsets ranging between rupees 2000 and 35000; and feature ranging from simple talk phone to Colour Multimedia/FM/MP3/Camera phones. Anyway, I am not justifying the ill practices of RIM of not allowing handset activation on other's network. What I meant by my post was that RIM has brought about a major change in India. Infact, the credt for the real telecom revolution in India goes to RIM, be it the network quality, call rates or even the handsets....It made others to work really hard to compete with Reliance. I believe RIM will be launching the high end handsets (like Samsung PDA and Palm Treo) pretty soon. As for the dual tech handsets (or better known as global phones), I made a post with details and pictures of two such handsets launched and available in US. Here's the link to the post. The Motorola one rocks, my brother owns it and is a very good phone. Cheers!
Pankaj Verma 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 The handset problem is an artificial one created by RIC unlike GSM where one can sign up with any operator after buying a handset from any shop. 38868[/snapback] Dear city you might haven't seen the ads of Hutch, Tata and other service providers in which they are providing handsets at the lower cost then Reliance. They also locked the service with handset. Why you only blame Reliance here. Tata had launched service earlier than Reliance. Only CDMA service provider which allowed to choose handset is MTNL in my knowledge and you must know how great their network is. and in reply to the bad news here is my answer Dear Mr. Verma, This is in reference to your mail addressed to the Chairman. In response to your mail regarding RIM-RIM free calls, kindly note that currently this facility is available under the offered schemes to all Reliance customers. You will be informed accordingly, if there are any changes about the same. We are constantly trying to improve our services. Looking forward to your co-operation. For further details, you can visit our web-site www.relianceinfo.com or write to us at customercare@relianceinfo.com or fax us at 022-3033 6565. You can also call Reliance Customer Care by dialling *333 or 3033 3333 from your Reliance IndiaMobile or Reliance IndiaPhone or by dialling 022-3033 3333 from any other phone. Yours sincerely, Kalpana Mandavkar Customer Service Chairman's Office
