BSNL announces tariff for CDMA 2000 1X

The MSC (Mobile Switching Center) based CDMA 2000 1X system will soon be inducted into BSNL’s network. In addition to the voice calls, this system will provide facilities such as - Internet at a speed of 144 Kbps, SMS service to other GSM and CDMA networks and Unified Messaging System (UMS) and Voice Message Service (VMS)

Internet Access Charges:The pulse rate shall be 60 seconds and charges are Rs 0.40 during peak hours and Rs 0.20 in off-peak hours.

neway Internet charges are a bit lower than RIM aint it and so sms charges....

SMS charges r 60p for Local(intra-circle) and if u add the 40p for delivery report it becomes 1.00! RIM Postpaid plans offer sms nationwide at 50p!

Where do they get all these ideas from.

Delivery reports were never charged even when the SMS was just introduced.

guys but whats that ...VOICE CHARGES ARE NOT CHARGEABLE....AND THE TARRIFS ARE SAME AS PREVIOUS....

What is the limit then? Why do you think that Reliance offers only upto 144Kbps.. The same speed now what BSNL plans to offer.

The peak Data throughput for CDMA2000 1x is 144 kbps.

CDMA 2000 1x EV-DO has a peak data rate of 2.4 Mbps

Interestingly enough in USA (usually means Verizon) on CDMA 1x 2000 networks people claim an average throughput of around 70-80 kbps.

RIM on the other hand usually gives 120+ kbps on most nights (I rarely use it during the day on weekdays but on weekends its more-or-less the same). ;):clap::clap:
