Java: J2se Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4

I had Java 2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.2_01 installed in my system which was found to be old version by some applications like Azureus. I installed J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 thereafter.

I needed to uninstall Java after a month due to a viral attack. So I tried to uninstall Java 2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.2_01 as well as J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4. The older version was removed from the system without any hiccup but J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 refused to be uninstalled showing error messages!

When i try to remove J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4, the initialisation takes place but after that, it shows an error message,

After that the uninstallation ends. It is happening even when I try to install(reinstall?) J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 again and again!

I'm running Windows 98 SE with IE6.0 on a Celeron 633MHz/192MB RAM.

Try to install Java 2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.2_01 again.

Then first uninstall J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4, after it try to uninstall Java 2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.2_01.

If it again shows ERROR, then check that is there ne entry for it in Environment Variables under System Properties -> Advanced. If its there then remove it and again try to uninstall it...
