deepu 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 As far as I know its available in WIndows 2000 server edition only. But its better to try it with WIndows 2003 Standard edition. I have tried it with Windows 2003 and it works like a charm without any problems. There is Citrix metaframe also which is another s/w similar to terminal services. On Linux you have LTSP. visit www.ltsp.org
Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 U can do following: 1.) You can install VNC. It will allow you to do most of the functions of terminal services. it will work with any other computer that has VNC installed. Alternatively you can install PCAnywhere and set it up via TCP/IP. 2.) You can download msrdpcli.exe from microsoft. This is the XP version of Terminal services and will work on Win 2000.
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 Vishal i dont need any remote access service. i got better stuff of that in pc anywhere and all when you access the server pc, the mouse and screen and everything is controlled by the client user but in terminal services, the client user has a different, independent work area. deepu 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 msrdpcli.exe is just the client for accessing another terminal server It will work even on Windows 95. Using terminal services a number of persons can access the server system and use it as their own desktop. The client need not be a very fast machine. Even a Pentium 100 will do. I have tried it with my P4 set up as a terminal server and an old P166 accessing it through LAN There is one ebook available by the name below. I cannot upload it due to the size Microsoft.Press.Microsoft.Windows.Server.2003.Terminal.Services.eBook-LiB.chm This is very informative.
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted September 16, 2005 boss client is available everywhere.. no issues its useless unless we got a satisfactory server.. I need to put the terminal services on windows 2000 professional. if anybody got ideas on doing this or any other soft which does exactly the same job, let me know. deepu 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2005 I am afraid that you will not be able to do it on Windows 2000 Professional. You can do it on a windows server operating systems only. Get yourself a copy of WIndows 2003. Even a pirated copy will do...
