Unable To Save New Ringtones

Recommended Posts

I havent saved any ringtones since R-Word went paid. Tried to save ringtones from the R-World, RIM Tunes section which is marked "M". Since I already had 3 ringtones previously stored (when R-World was free), it asked me to select the ringtone to replace. I choose one ("Vroom" something ringtone saved from Castrol section, long time back); but it says "Unable to replace ringtone!" Tried saving 3-4 ringtones from the same section; but it gives the same message.

Anybody has a clue as to what the problem might be? I dont have a data cable, so cant use the comp for fiddling around with the file system... :P

The handset in question is the good ole RD 2030.

try to delete the ringtone manually.

If it can be deleted then download the ringtone.

as far as 2030 goes u do not have "DELETE a RINGTONE" unless there is a new midlet in rworld.

What he meant by manually was to delete directly from the phone. There must be some other way of deleting ringtones from LG sets without the use of Cable.

There wasn't any way in 2030. Newer phones have this facility. For 2030, use Bitpim to delete tones.

Ya, I dont see any way to delete the ringtone from the phone itself.

Unfortunately, nobody I know has the RD 2030 now ...in fact hardly anybody has RIM anymore ...the few that had have converted to GSM. So nobody I know would have a data cable now... :(

And buying it just for deleting a ringtone sounds ridiculous... :help:

if you can get hold of some mobile accessories shop and get in terms with them.

Ask them to give you the cable for a day or 2 for a nominal amount. :help:

Not a usual proceedure, still try your luck

Wow, thats a very tempting and generous offer Ashoksoft! :help:

Ashokjp, I guess a better idea might be to visit the LG service centre ...unfortunately its quite far out. Anyway, I guess there is no other way... :(
