Mahatma Gandhi's life history on R World

In fond memory of Mahatma Gandhi, R World on Saturday launched an application showcasing excerpts of his life. This was announced here at 'Peace Train', a programme organized by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti. Under 'Peace Train', children traveled from Mumbai to Delhi as peace envoys to spread the great man's message amongst thousands of people that they met enroute including leaders of his ilk, and celebrities.

This is first time that Bapu's life history is being made available on a mobile phone in India. The application is developed by the Delhi based ZMQ Software Systems Ltd.

Called "The Mahatma", the application includes a film on Gandhi's life from Dandi March to the non-cooperation movement. There will be ten clips in the film each with a title. For the quiz-minded, there is a Gandhi Quiz zone with posers on the life and times of the saint.

The application will be available on R World's Hot n New section along with animated greetings and wallpaper commemorating Gandhi Jayanti.
