drali 6 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 I bought a webcam(QUANTUM) few days back.its a 500K cam for Rs 750.its pic quality is V.good when i use it in win98SE(yahoo mssngr).But it shows black screen when i use it in Yahoo msngr in winXP.however it works fine when i see the pic using its software even in win XP.both the OS are installed on diff computers.I tried reinstalling the s/w but in wane. is it the problem in win XP or in yahoo msngr(beta version). help me frnds. jayant 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2005 (edited) Lemme understand ur question better .... are u saying that when u use it with yahoo msnger...u can see the pic on ur screen but the one who is seeing u gets a black or a grey screen? Or u say that even u are not able to c the image in ur cam when u use xp? Well 1st of all yahoo's latest version is not beta nemore so get urself a full version. Mukul 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2005 I have used QUANTUM webcam and it worked great with Windows XP, So does your Camera works with other applications like VP-EYE free software with the camera or windows Movie maker? If it does not then reinstall the drivers and if it does then you need configure the camera properties of the Yahoo messenger. Change NTSC to Pal. This should work. jayant 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Well usually the problem with newer ones is that the IMAGE source being used by yahoo is not been selested properly. U can try opening ur cam and then from the cam window open preferences and then from camera source chek if u have seleceted the correct one... This usually happens if u use some cature cards like TV TUNER n all.. or u se some softare to capure images from ur destop like CAM GRABBER Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
