Nokia 3125- R Connect Problems

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am a new Reilance Nokia 3125 user. This phone is great, with great reception/battery. However, I am unable to connect to Internet/ PC-Suite using DKU5 cable or the CA42 cable. I have installed all recommended drivers etc. As soon as I plug the phone in, it says, "Ready for data transfer" and within a second, the phone says,"Data session ended." I have read the forum and found that some other people also have the same problem. However, no concrete solution was seen.

So anybody? I need this phone to connect to Internet too. Please help!

Saurabh.

I think you have some problem with the cable. I am using CA-42 cable of Cheetah brand. The connection usually starts at attempt 2. However I have worked for almost two to three hours without any problem.

While disconnecting you have to physically disconnect the cable twice to end the data connection.

I had the same problem a year back when I bought Nokia 3125. Websites of both Reliance and Nokia said the handset supports DKU-5. But it did not. Then I tried *333 (Reliance service centre) who asked me to clarify from Nokia Service Centre, who in turn told me that it does not support DKU-5 and adviced me to go for CA-42. Even after that I could not connect with an original Nokia CA-42. Finally, somebody in Reliance Service Centre (*333) told me to open up the modem properties through the Control Panel on my PC and enter "at+crm=1;+cso=33" (without the quotes of course) on the Extra Initialisation Commands of the Advanced tab. THIS WORKED FOR ME !!!

I am having trouble getting my Nokia 3125 to connect to internet from my PC.

It installed OK. When I use the R Connect dialler to dial it starts dialing, the R connect dialler window gives the message "connecting to the device", there is activity on the phone display, with the data transfer images "Receiving" and "sending" coming on, but then the PC goes into a total hang and freezes up. I eventually have to power off and on manually to get it to restart.

The same set and CA-42 cable have installed on another PC and laptop, on Win XP without problem.

However, on my PC I was using a Samsung N191 earlier, and had no problems connecting to the net. This problem has occurred after I changed my set to a Nokia 3125.

PC configuration: CPU - Intel Pentium D 920 2.8 GHz 2 x 2MB L2 cache

MB - Original Intel 945 GNT, 800 Mhz FSB

BIOS - NT94510J.86A.3869.2006.0519.1533

RAM - 512 MB DDR2 at 667 MHz

HDD - Seagate 160 GB SATA OS - Win XP SP2

PC is other wise working fine. I have even reformatted the C drive of HDD and reinstalled Win XP, but problem persists. Can anyone help?
