linuxguy 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2005 Hi people! I have been waiting for reliance broadband to roll out for a long time. I am quite sure that many of you have been awaiting as well. But there are no immediate signs that Reliance is going to provide us with true unlimited broadband. So the next best thing is airtel broadband. I am currently residing in mumbai and i haven't been able to find out whether airtel offers broadband (DSL) services in mumbai. Have you guys heard anything about it? Also, does anyone know whether MTNL is going to offer unlimited downloads with their ADSL connections? Currently the only "unlimited" scheme they have is the Night Unlimited. I really want to shift to a better faster ISP...

Airtel only offers unlimited plans under 64 and 128kbps. Your plan is a 128kbps. If you arent aware of that, then im afraid the salseman pulled one over you. I'm currently using the 512kbps 2.5gb limit plan. Edited October 9, 2005 by vb86

Saurav 22 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Airtel is very quick in laying their network. Laying wires and other equipments. reliance is bit slow. Anil should stop thinking and should announce some investment in pending projects of RIC.

linuxguy 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 same here wating for reliance broadband since months here! airtel dose not provide broadband in mumbai . I was contacted by Airtel 2-3 days ago regarding their new post-paid plans ( cellphone ). I asked them regarding their Fixed Line services and Broadband. They said that they are currently providing certain areas with lines and they told me to contact their lower parel office. However they couldn't give me any phone number. The thing that got my attention was, I confirmed with the exec and then asked to speak to her superior. He too confirmed it. So I guess they will be starting their services in Mumbai. Just tell me, how can a company like airtel ignore a HUGE market like Mumbai? After all we are the financial capital of India

vb86 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 i frankly doesnt think that reliance would be able to provide the same level of after sales service that is being provided by airtel dsl. Whenever (though rarely) i recieve a problem, it is attended to within 4 business hours and generally rectified within that period too. This includes major problems also.
