Over 100 high-ranking officials from 25 CDMA operators around the world will participate in the Summit. Beginning 2002, the CDMA operators have been meeting at such annual Summits, which bring together top-ranking professionals, including Chairmen, CEOs and Directors from leading CDMA Operators across the world. The CDMA Operators Summit is designed to promote networking and sharing of information towards mutual business cooperation and market development. The 4th CDMA Operators Summit will have participants from 12 countries including China, South Korea, United States and Japan. China Unicom of China, SK Telecom of South Korea, Verizon and Sprint of USA, Telus Mobility of Canada, Vivo of Brazil and KDDI of Japan will be representing at the summit. Under the theme 'Future Calling', this event comprises of Executive fora in the three fields of Business, Technology and Device. The first CDMA Operators Summit was held in Beijing in 2002, the 2nd Summit was held in Tokyo in 2003 and Seoul hosted the 3rd Summit in 2004. Three Virtual Working Groups set up in August 2005 have been deliberating in their respective fields on contemporary topics & critical issues relevant to CDMA community. The working groups will present their conclusion during the Summit. Bhagwan D. In the Manufacturer's Perspective session, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Qualcomm, Lucent and Texas Instruments will unfold their current technological development status and new product launch road map. They will also propose a development plan for CDMA coverage for all sectors of the world. well i had read in newspaper yesterday{ET} that quallcomm head is coming to india after the GSM head...i.e vodafone ceo's visit the quallcomm head is also coming shd we expect a stake in something or a notification like that......... CDMA Leaders Gather to Discuss Strategies for Continued Expansion of the Technology Worldwide Source: CDG CDMA operators from around the world met on November 11 and 12 in Mumbai, India to share their successes with the technology and set priorities to ensure continued progress in the coming years. The fourth annual CDMA Operator Summit was hosted by Reliance Infocomm Limited, the largest wireless operator and a leading telecommunication provider in India. The discussions focused on cooperation in the areas of business development, new market opportunities, technology evolution, device availability and global interoperability. "This year marks the 10th anniversary of the first CDMA network deployment," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDMA Development Group (CDG) (www.cdg.org). "CDMA has become a leading platform for 2G and 3G services with 200 operators in 71 countries and nearly 300 million subscribers worldwide. CDMA operators who gathered here represent diverse markets from developed as well as developing regions. The summit attendees discussed the vibrant CDMA2000 evolution path, including ways to continue to meet customers' needs and stay ahead of the competition. They also identified areas for greater cooperation including improving interoperability of features and increased participation in the CDG's Global Handset Requirements for CDMA team to ensure greater handset availability and volume-based pricing at all tiers. Many participants noted the increased interest in R-UIM-based CDMA2000 handsets.
