In a tatement, citing media reports, the union said unbundling of the last mile copper cables of BSNL and MTNL would enable the private players to make huge profit by utilising its infrastructure on namesake rentals. The union called upon the telecom workers to start campaigning against the government's proposals and, plan to organise a day-long dharna on November 18, the statement said. The government has to think twice before allowing the infrastructure of government PSUs for being utilised by rival companies, it added Within one year of starting broadband services, 200 cities have already been covered by BSNL and more are in pipeline.
