userfriendly 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 Hello Everyone, I am sarting this new thread on this group to have us all care for each other by reporting any bandwith and network issues to rconect services here. I hope this will beniefit us all in some ways or the other in future at-least. Please be patient to read below and help us all to follow up as an organized customer group so we all must get better services. I am a user of rconnect services over Sierra Wireless card since Oct 12 onwards. I have found services better than GPRS which I had used earlier. My simple mathemetics is that rconnect service is 3times than GPRS in both price and quality as of in un-limited connection subscription. Also I must make a point here that I use this service on Linux almost 90% of the time that I am on-line. My worries started recently when I started noticing flatlines of bandwidth (for last one week) over GNOME Modem Light s, data counters of IPTraf and RxTx32 on Windows. Dormancy was also noticed manytimes but I've noticed ping solution is not required infact having couple of messengers help enough e.g skype, yahoo, gtalk. If I talk as per IPtraf and RxTx32, maximum you get is 14Kbytes/sec all the time. But in last (aprox.) one week this has surged lower as 1-3Kbytes on an average and max 5Kbytes/sec during day times and also nights. Since Nov 16, I've started following up Rconnect customer support very actively and last night Nov 16 & Nov 17 till dawn I could get thru put as of 14Kbytes/sec, and day time was worse again. I am copying a URL here that will provide a very nice bandwidht monitor for you to track your thru put well. I feel this software does not has any trojons or spyware but still all risk is yours am not assuring here http://www.netfor2.com/RxTxPreview.html I am awaiting all of your feedback and followup here. Many Thanks,
Arun 795 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 Welcome abroad, Kevin ! There are reports in another thread mentioning about a recent degrade in R-Connect performace over the last few days, though I guess this is dependant on the network where *you* are now, and not a full network problem. Anyway it would be better to have a single thread like this to report network problems rather than posting in different threads BTW, RxTx does look cool
userfriendly 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 Arun, I tried to check if certain discussion is already on, but could not find, please provide me a URL. However I will like to request you to have this kind mainline thread for such issues. Some or the other thread likely to be merged ? Cheers,
Arun 795 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 You can find that topic here. Well, I can merge it up anyway, let me know
userfriendly 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 Arun, I will suggest that let this thread be the mainline thread for future reference, however the other thread does contain an important discussion for the record. So I think it will be great if you merge the other thread here. Thanks,
Arun 795 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 I can merge those posts to this topic, but your first topic (in this thread) would appear only after those posts. If its ok with you, I'll keep the title of this topic intact.
