z_haque 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 Hi buddies. . I have watching this forum since a long time now. i searched a lot but couldnt find any help. So thought of registering and posting my query. I have been using Rconnect from LG LSP 340 for my internet requirments. I was using Yahoo messenger 6 which offered voiec chatting decently. But since yahoo has launched the Version 7 of Yahoo Messenger with calling facilities the voice feature is not working. When I installed it and logged in for the first time, the call button was there and I also used it. But when i logged in for the second time the call button was missing. I am using windows XP with service pack 2 installed. I tried disabling the windows firewall but it still did not work. I reinstalled yahoo Messenger in another folder. This time again the same thing happened. It worked the first time but the second time the call button went missing. I mailed yahoo support but they said it might be a problem with my internet connection. Can anyone here help me out in solving this problem... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have tried changing firewall but it did not work. and Vikky dear, can u tell me which phone r u using for rconnect. I wanted to know if there is something wrong with the phone model i m using. I m very confused abt this behaviour of yahoo messenger 7 coz internet speed that i m getting is also decent. even msn messenger is working well and good. I want to use yahoo messenger 7 coz i have heard that the voice quality in the calls r much better than yahoo meessenger 6. But i m still stuck with version 6 just bcoz version 7 is just not working. vijaykv 5 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 Hi Even I was facing the similar problem, but I solved it. Try as follows: Remove the existing yahoo messenger. Make sure you are not using yahoo.co.in use google and download Yahoo Messenger with voice and Install it. Reboot the machine. It will work fine. What I feel that in India they are blocking the voice chat . When I was using skype for voice chatting they blocked microphone when I registered as an Indian user. But then I registered as a US user they allowed me to talk. That is why I asked you not to use yahoo.co.in . In version 6 this trouble was not there. Actually most of my friends living in india using other internet connections like BSNL or cable internet are using the service very well. I think there is some other problem thats preventing me from using the service. I thought it was something related to rconnect, thats y i posted the query here. looking forward for some more answers... anujit 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Its usually a firewall problem in your own machine that prevents voice chats. Check if you can do file transfers. If you cant go to Preferences - Connection in Y!M & select no network detection and try if that works or try with no network detection and then reset it back to "no proxies". I got it resolved by uninstalling the current version and then downloaded Yahoo Messenger with voice full installation file.
