Frequency And Polarisation

May be a silly question, but does any one know the exact frequency and polarisation of reliance signals?

I want this information before I try to get some antennae from this provider.

12 to 15db should be more than enough to catch a really faint signal. Coupled with a protection filter made for the exact band, this would get most of the poor signal issues solved.

hmm...i would suggest writing to the chairman's office... I doubt reliance would provide these details to the general public though.

it would be a great help if we can get the details of the frequency band of reliance cdma network, as there are many low network related problems , and we can cure them by using these types of antenna ,

and i dont think it is a secret issue of reliance /

there are many vendors in the market who r selling antennas for reliance but are asking a hefty amount , and yagi antennas can be made at home , if we know the frequency details...

use netmonitor or Diagnostic softwares to know what you want. For Kyocera use QXDM for LG LGDM and Nokia enable net monitor in handset to see details. google it to understand values displayed on handset.

Else, YAGI is simple antena, you too can calculate and make. Calculations are simple mathematics.

gsmsikar, call up reliance and have THEM install the antenna... You aren't supposed to spend a dime to get their network to come to you!

I got one such external booster antenna installed for myself, and when i saw it was wired thing coming till my office desk and getting attached to my cellphone, i got it removed the very same moment! I hate putting my cell on charging when i want to use it and they expect that the cell shud be connected to a wire! I guess, that was a very good example of last mile wired connectivity that i suggested for FWP :)

Anyways, whats really a Yagi Antenna? How does it attach to the cellphone? Any snaps for examples?

The master is back .... was away fiddling on TATA indicom handsets... coz someone is paying hefty to tweak somethings there :quest:

Go for a AMPS(2) CDMA antenna. unless ur Access overload class value (specified by operator) is less than 10 the frequency of reliance network latch will be :

Transmission (TX) : 824.64 MHz - 848.37 MHz

Receiver (RX) : 869.64 - 893.37 Mhz

Latch on presecion needs to be within 300 Hz of either limits.

So any antenna which can support the said frequencies should ideally do..

Lol that is simple mate...

The transmission frequency is the frequency at which ur mobile transmits data, RX is the frequency at which the mobile receives data.

AOC stands for ur CONSUMER status which is set by the operator. High values *(above 10) is meant only for VIP customers, and many a times is used by operator test mobiles.

So when going to buy a network booster, u will need one which can boost signals in the said frequencies....

PS : Boosters DRAIN out batteries fast, and above that... they have an adverse effect on the life of the mobile too (despite all claims that they are 100% safe for the mobile)

linuxguy u are guessing wrong... and there is nothing for u to doubt, coz the frequencies of operation can be confirmed from ur own handset....

or if u have a manual, they might have the info.

1800 - 1900 is in for GSM mate ... check out GSM specks

900 - 1800 will be for Dual band

900 - 1800 - 1900 will be Tri band

900 - 1800 - 1900 / 2100 - will be Tri band sub series (3G WCDMA)

Most of the times, if there are more then 2 operators in GSM 2 would be on 900 band and 2 on 1800. In Mumbai, BPL and Orange is on 900 (used to be when I used BPL) and Airtel was on 1800. While in Delhi, Airtel and Hutch were on 900 and Idea was on 1800. Am not sure about MTNL/BSNL.

And in India CDMA is on 800 band.

BTW, what are the ranges of frequency in which CDMA handsets communicate? I mean the bandwidth.

Does TATA have the higher slot?

For GSM handset suppport 900/1800/1900 Mhz where did u found gsm handset working below 900Mhz.
