What Is The Aim Behind Lifetime Validity

Recommended Posts

guys in last one week the indian telecom market has seen a unique offer from the three..or probably four major operators...Airtel, Hutch, Reliance and at last MTNL..all have offered the life time validity in approx 1000Rs....but what is the aim behind that i didnt understood that funda..what they will gain from that except customers.

well in RIM can we recharge it with any voucher and what will be the call rates afterwards...

in media release it written

For instance, If the subscriber expects high outgoing calling in a particular month, he can use our Rs 430 voucher and get the benefit of lower calling rates (Rs 430 voucher gives him night calling to a Reliance IndiaMobile for free and day calling at 40p per minute within the state)

does it means that when i rechrge my 994 voucher with this 430 i will get the talk time of 200 and tarrif of that coupon ..but then why did i loaded 995? i am a bit confused...

Pay 1000 bucks (company already has the infrastructure) ... and u get incoming for lifetime... The customer retains the number ... and all in all he has to recharge only once in six months ...

now think of this ... the customer remains in the bracket with a fixed call charge.... (and real high ones at that)

Customer decides that in one month (say Jan) he expects to make n number of calls.... and he TOPS UP with some money... (even when there are better deals running around, he ends up making high rate calls...)

yeah there are a couple of vouchers like the 440 which u can recharge with to make calls at cheaper rates, but the LTV is not a viable option for someone who recharges everymonth with a 440 voucher... :)

Cheers

Ashok

Yeah, it is typically for "give it to your driver and forget it" type of users. If the driver wants to make outgoing calls, he would either use top-up or better still, go to a PCO.

Or give one such connection to your mother at home so that she could receive calls from her near & dear ones.

...I mean, for first time users, who were anyway not interested in having a mobile phone due to hassles of monthly recharging.

think of this

i have heard that in a short period of time the NUMBER PORTABILITY option is going to be started according to TRAI, then what will happen to all those LIFETIME users , they will be of no use to any user who wants to switch the provider with the same number, then the lifetime validity of the user is automatically gone...

Ya that time it will be no use. But when this thing comes into existance that time u won't get a RCV for a month it will be of 3/6/12 months so even then a coustmer will think twice before switching .

And hey if u recharge with any RCV u will get the benifits of that RCV so those high out going rates will be applicable only if u dont recharge with any RCV and just add bal thru top up, so enjoy life time incoming

And i even heared abt HUTCH's lifetime outgoing is it true

All companys now start lifetime incomming with around Rs 800 to Rs999. They think all customers are fool.

But all customer think that within 1 or 2 months all company will offer without any charge.
