priya 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 I am running linux kerenel 2.4.22. I have the following problem I use a USB to serial adapter to connect to my phone. The info tool on KDE recognizes my serial port as follows... USB UHCI Root Hub (3) | |___PL 2303 Serial Port The 'dmesg' output shows that the pl2303 drivers are loaded but my device attached to the serial port is not recognized. How do i make it visible to linux.
Surej 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 check which serial port is assigned to the USB controller... did you install the same driver ld_pl2303_v0213.zip ..? this is the Prolific driver for USB to serial for Kernel 2.4 and above.. WBR Surej

Surej 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Usually no linux drivers are shipped with USB to serial cables..it's always better that you find the driver from the specific chip manufacturer WBR Surej
