the files u downloaded are in the fone format and u will have to upload them to ur phone through Bitpim and a data cable attached to ur phone and ur pc ,alternatively u can download those file with .mid extension and then u can send them through MMS.

Well Fevin-Raj format factor does not solve by renaming d files.Different extension of files hav different type of Encoding & decoding.U hav to use d files in its original format in ne type of work.

Use PSM Player to convert dat to midi.

The .dat format you downloaded from rimweb is specifically meant for LG-2030 handset.

while LG-6130 does support .mid files and small size is not an issue as long as it is a valid file format.

Well Fevin, the ringtones(.dat) available in rimweb is meant for LG 2030 to be uploaded through bitpim and they are in the following format.

a midi file is sized to 4096 bytes and a header containing file name is added to the first few bytes of data

To reverse this conversion, maybe staticelectricity & ngcoders might help you, since he was involved in the program.

Fevin,

Its very simple to convert in PSM player.

First open the .dat file in PSM player, then press the red record icon and save as .mid. (don't forget to first check the "create midi" option in the File menu)

And thats it...you have a normal .mid file which you caould send to your 6130 as a ringtone.
