What's This Wallpaper Showing System Uptime?

Recommended Posts

i was working on a Bloomberg-it is basically a terminal pc used by share market related offices- and I noticed that on the wallpaper, there was info like last reset, system running from so much time, for so much time etc. It was looking very cool, and I didn't see any extra applications running in the system tray either. SO what is happening? Can we do in on home pc?

if there were no extra applications on the systray, it must have been a dynamic HTML as wallpaper.

lots of widgets konfabulator.com or some desktop widget (search on google)

dhtml wallpaper

There was no widget running. Mostly it was the dynamic HTML thing. Can someone guide me how to go about it? I want to display the last shutdown, and system on time. I don't need to show the uptime, as it will be calculating it again and again ( i guess). Anyone, pls help.

didnt i tell you? Active desktop!

Ya, I figured that part out myself. but I am totally ignorant about dynamic HTML. Can you pls give/upload the code to display the last shutdown time, and system start time? If possible, maybe a small HTML file? I can edit that file later, but I don't know anything about DHTML. I can edit that file later, I know HTML.

Pls help.

Its not that simple. Windows stores the last shut down time in the registry instead of in a file. So you would have to use the windows API to access the registry in a C/C++/Java program and then use that program to generate the HTML page every 10 secs or something.
