Reliance Infocomm is a lead player in the telecom sector and a partner in growth for us and their next-generation connectivity of our network, will further strengthen our processing capability".

GE Money expects to expand its operation and coverage aided by this network.

Reliance IP-VPN is a managed, business-class network service that provides secure and reliable IP internetworking. It creates a private secure network over Reliance's fibre based broadband infrastructure. Reliance IP-VPN is a global, next-generation VPN that combines the quality and security of ATM or Frame Relay with the flexibility and simplicity of IP, supporting all requirements of an e-business enterprise.

Reliance's IP-VPN solution is based on the latest generation of routers and switches using MPLS at the core that allows very fast forwarding of IP data by replacing most of the routing processes used on conventional IP-based networks through the use of label switching. VPN based on MPLS forwards IP packets using labels attached to each IP packet.

Whoa ... GE Commercial Finance debt-financed Hutch's entry into India, about 5 years back. And then followed, entire corporate mobile connections to be handed to Hutch.

It's to be seen if Reliance can snatch that corporate account for mobiles, from hutch or not. GE Money (and GE in entirely), is a big corporate account.
