Unlimited Bandwidth Packages On Bsnl Broadband

Unlimited Bandwidth Packages on BSNL Broadband

As usual, I quote from the officer’s mail. The emphasis is mine.

We also are aware that there are some segment(sic) of customer for whom the unlimited plan is going to be the right choice. That’s why this case has been initiated. The details of the plan is still under deliberation and we expect it to be finalized by mid of next month.

The same will be intimated through our website, the moment it is launched. Yes, I will personally intimate you also(sic) through e-mail.

Could I have my head swelled up here? The officer himself is going to mail me back!

So now, the spelling mistakes are gone; grammatical bloopers remain. Surely, someone has read the previous posts!

I hope they make it earlier; I need the unlimited bandwidth desperately for updating through medical journals.

There are other developments too; I am restricting myself at the moment for these announcements. It’s a good feeling that my efforts have borne some fruit. Though my fingers have actually worne out tapping on the keyboard incessantly.

By the way, this mail came in after two mails were sent; the last one specifically mentioned whether there is an official dictated policy as to refuse any query from a consumer. More or less a stinker.

Once the CNN-IBN deal comes through (if at all it happens), I would DEFINITELY highlight the present impasse. BSNL remains a public organisation and these officers are public “servants”. Who died and made them God? What divine right they have to pimp their last mile access? Why can’t these officer’s be made accountable for their lapses and mental harrasment?

Tough questions but no answers forthcoming.

Yes, depending upon the price and I don't think they would offer unlimited plans above 256 kbps. TATA Indicom already offers 256 kbps with unlimited data transfer at Rs.1750 (including tax).

i think people will take broadband till 1200 - 1300 + tax coz lets face it AIRTEL + TATA + RELIANCE infocomm does not have that much coverage area as bsnl + mtnl!!

they might get all the customers where there people are not present, mumbai being one area where all of these three have not even started broadband operations! @least not in my area.

Airtel offers unlimited data exchange @256 kbps with a phone line connection for just Rs.900 + Tax!

airtel i have heard is best but saddly these people are only intrested in northern india!! mumbai is not in their map

We f*cking pay 40% of this freakin' countries taxes and Airtel refuses to service the whole of Mumbai. If you ask me Bharati Mittal is out of his mind! :|

On a lighter note, I hope BSNL comes out with unlimited broadband AT AFFORDABLE PRICE (eg. 500-900 bucks a month WITH NO PORTS / PROTOCOLS BLOCKED ) and NO TIME RESTRICTION! Note the keywords. Hopefully, MTNL will follow suite.

Airtel used to be good, but not anymore. Their speeds have gone down drastically in the last ten months or so....As for the Airtel's 256 Kbps unlimited connection for 999+taxes, mind it, it is a shared connection and u never ever get 256K! I would say you're lucky if you are getting even 128K at all the times on this connection. I have this plan, and I rarely get download sppeds more than 14KB/s. My sierra wireless card gives better download speeds than this plan.

Nothing so great for Airtel, antmore.

I am planning to take an Airtel broadband connection. In Chennai, the Airtel broadband is not shared. Every connection individually gets the bandwidth promised. Its also much cheaper than other ISP's.

Had checked lot of reviews on Mouthshut.com before zeroeing in on Airtel.

All Airtel broadband plans are not shared, only the Home 699 (128 Kbps unlimited) and Home 999 (256 Kbps unlimited) plans are. Rest all the plans are dedicated to my knowledge. Anyway, Airtel is the only good alternative for those who want unlimited data transfer at a resonably good speeds and at a reasonably affordable prices. I also had posted good reviews for Airtel BB before, but for the last 9-10 months (or you can say with the increased customer base - as per their calim they now have more than 2 lacs Airtel BB subscriver in NCR), speeds have gone down drastically....and not only the speeds, the downtime has increased substantially.

It might be the best choice in Chennai or other Metros, but not in Delhi...though I would still rate it as a better choice.

Earlier I had BSNL dataone home500 plan, as it provides unlimited only during Night 2 PM TO 8 PM, Which was highly inconvenient for me.

Than i shifted to Airtel 900 + tax, which provides a landline phone without any rental + unit rate @ Rs.1/- Per pulse (Economical) and unlimited usage all the time and the speed is aroung 240 Kbps on average which is quite decent.

Bsnl has a disadvantage as yout have to pay min. rental for landline connection additional to broad band charges.

So for me Airtel is convenient and i recommend it, if you got Airtel broadband in your area.
