Rconnect And Lan Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a strange problem. In one of our branch office there are three computers connected thru LAN. The IPS are in 192.168.0.x series. All was well but when we installed Rconnect on one computer and connect to internet the computer was not accesable to other computers. After disconnecting to rconnect the problem still persist.

What problem I think is that Rconnect assignes a new IP Address so it has been detached from LAN. Have anyone else has faced this problem. If yes then please reply.

Thanks.

There should not be any problem with lan. unless you have a lan ip assigned on same subnet as of rconnect public ips.

wierd, but R-Connect doesnt change the TCP/IP properties of your Network Card. Check what is mentioned in: 'ipconfig /all' (run in DOS) to see whether the settings are correct.

I have checked ipconfig and the ipaddress is coming 0.0.0.0 while it is 192.168.0.1. It means it is changing the TCP IP properties.

Hi,

Well check the IP assigned to your ethernet card in the settings dialogbox.

And also check how your routing table looks like, are you using DHCP thingy ?

I have checked ipconfig and the ipaddress is coming 0.0.0.0 while it is 192.168.0.1. It means it is changing the TCP IP properties.

HI

0.0.0.0 is special case of generic IP addr assignment, 0.0.0.0 corresponds to

INADDR_ANY means this adress is bind to all interfaces as target but its sementics

is for packets routing only. Check are you using DHCP thingy ?

Format Total Disk

After that install Winroutelite Lan Software (http://www.downlinx.com/proghtml/350/35075.htm)

Then the problems will resolve

Ah! I had this same problem for the last two days.... just fixed it. \m/

First of all use static IPs only in both connections,

1. Open your LAN TCP/IP settings properties

2. Go to WINS tab

3. Choose Enable NETBIOS option. This shud help you make static IP association possible in LAN when a dial-up is present.

Sorry for typing this info in a hurry.. will repost if not clear

Cheers..
