sarang 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2006 Press Release RCoVL/MR/2006/06 Reliance Infocomm slashes ISD rates by over 60% DAKC (Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City), Navi Mumbai, March 31, 2006 Reliance Infocomm today slashed ISD tariffs by 45 per cent to 69 per cent for calls to various countries, including the US, Canada, Europe and Middle East. The rate change is spread across all plans and schemes under prepaid and post paid categories, enabling Reliance customers to make the cheapest international calls from India. The ISD rates to the US, Canada, Fixed phones in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia have been brought down to Rs 6/ minute from Rs 14.25 under all One Nation plans. The rates for ISD calls to these countries under all other plans have been brought down to Rs 7.20/ minute from Rs 12.99/minute to Rs 14.25/minute earlier. The rates for calls to Gulf, Middle East and Africa have been brought down to Rs 8/ minute from Rs 17. 25 under One Nation plans and under other plans, it has been brought down to Rs 9.99/minute from Rs 19.99/ min to Rs 17.25/min. "We are proud to lead the way in reducing the transactional cost for Indians who are interacting with the world more and more. The ISD call rates have now come down below the levels STD rates were a few years back. The indirect economic value added to the economy of the country by this rate reduction is much more than actual rates itself," said SP Shukla, President, Wireless, Reliance Infocomm.
