I am using the Compaq P4 Desktop,Windows XP SP2.The problem is that automatically a File name "dxva_sig" displays on the desktop and whenever I click on it a Notepad opens which is blank.Everytime I use the computer or the Internet this File displays on the Desktop.I have even deleted it several times but the next time I Use the Computer it automatically comes back on the Desktop.Does any one have any idea what is the reason behind this and how do I solve this problem.Kindly help. :):P

Its not a virus/spyware, but this is what I found while searching for it, hope it helps in your case...

I noticed recently (on my new installation of Windows) that a file named "dvxa_sig" kept appearing on my desktop. My initial inclination was that it was possibly some kind of trace of a malicious element, but upon a quick search, I learned that it was simply the result of not having the latest codecs installed. To get it to stop appearing, install the latest Windows Media Player version or download a codec pak such as defilerpak (a previous tip of the day, found at http://hellninjacommando.com/defilerpak/). This will end the annoyance of the ever-appearing text file.

You do seem to have a Graphics Card, so try to have your Hardware vendor to figure it out for you.

Anyway, you can try downloading and applying this patch from Microsoft
