Advice For Buying New Handset Please!

Recommended Posts

It seems like my old LG 2030 has come to its end. I get a very weak signal bars on it most of the times and internet has become terribly slow.

So I am thinking of buying new handset. As I understand some mobile phones work at 115200 kbs and some at 23040 kbs and give faster download speed. Can you tell me which phone models are faster?

Regards,

First of all try to understand 115200 and 230400 are data transfer rate between your computer and mobile phones modem, this has no effect on the internet speed. There are not much models available just now. You can go with LG RD 5340, LG RD6230 etc

Yea, I know not much choice :( however my first considerations would be a handset which supports 23040kbs. Would you know which ones do?

if you get samsung 191 then go for it, its best, stable and fastest. So far I tried 191, LG 2030, 7230, GTRAN, NOK 6225, 2280, 3225 . I found Samsung the best. In samsung after extensive data use, speaker gets damaged. Also if you use cheap after market cables then with some computer charging is a problem through USB port. But I believe you will get good original cable at reasonable price.

I have been using nokia 6255 and nokia 6235 for quite sometime.one can change the settings and can get connected at 920kbps on both the phones. Both the phones offer a speed of 15kbps download in the afternoon and arounf 20kbps in the night.i guess no other phone supports browsing and downloading as fast as these nokia phones.

As told by a person in webworld it is better to take a handset without the brew platform that is handsets like 5340,2030 e.t.c of LG. It is his advice and as he has good contacts with the people coming there. If u r interested in landphone it is good in LG 350r e.t.c. u will get data cables for 150/-. as tata is also having the same set 350t.

DOES IT MEAN THAT THE BAUD RATE IS SET TO 230,400 ?

No without changing baud rate i got very much higher speed and it was not for 1 or 2 minutes it was for whole night. What i assume from this is that each model (i m having 2130) support higher data transfer rates.
